Side by Side Cymru: Peer support in your community

If you would like this information in welsh, please go to THIS page.

For many of us attending Young Farmers, bowling, sports or self-help groups can make a big difference to our lives – even something as simple as a regular coffee morning can be a real lifeline.

Groups can be great for linking up with people who’ve had similar experiences to our own – and this can really boost our mental health. We call this peer support.

Free training and grants

If you’re part of an organisation or community group that offers peer support – or are thinking about starting a group – we can help you get started.

Thanks to support from Wales Government and Mind Cymru, we’re running a series of free training and networking sessions that aim to facilitate peer support, covering issues such as mental health, effective group management, safeguarding, etc. You’ll also be able to find support from others in your area.

We’re also offering small grants to help you get started. This money could be used for things like venue hire, leaflets, materials for activities, amongst many other things.

The Grant application form can be downloaded HERE

And the information for it can be found HERE
