Diverse Cymru
Mid and North Powys Mind has been working with Diverse Cymru to develop fairer services for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people in Wales. We are pleased to announce we have been awarded the Silver Foundation Award in the Cultural Competence Certification Scheme.
The scheme, was conceived to celebrate and recognise the progress organisations are making toward breaking down barriers many Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic groups face in the workplace. Diverse Cymru work alongside each workplace to ensure that the changes being made go beyond just ‘ticking boxes’ and ensure significant, long-lasting changes to protocol and culture are taking place.
Disability Confident Scheme
Mid and North Powys Mind is pleased to say they have renewed their Disability Confident Certification.
The Disability Confident scheme supports employers to employ and keep disabled people in work.
To gain our certification, we have confirmed our commitment to:
- Ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
- Communicate and promote vacancies
- Offer an interview to disabled people
- Anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments as required
- Support any existing employee who acquires a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
